Florence

I know that I haven't blogged in ages. The summer was a bit of a weird one for me and I felt a bit all over the place. 

But recently I've been doing a few things that have brought me lots of life. The main one being going to see Florence and the Machine with my friend Luffy at Allypally!

If you have never heard of Florence and the Machine (shame on you) I am almost convinced you will have heard some of her music. She is a bit like marmite, people either love her or hate her. I am definitely in the love category. 

Today I am going to give you my top #3 of her songs for you to enjoy.

Now all of these are subject to change and I think there is one from each of her 3 albums there - basically I cannot commend her highly enough to you. Seeing her live was incredible!! Florence has this insane energy, she was on stage for 2 hours leaping across the stage and singing her heart out. 

People might say that spending money on tickets to see people perform or play sport is a waste - but I think experiences like this make us enjoy life more. It was a quality night with a great friend. 

Intro 2014

So New Year's Day seems to feel ages ago, yet we are less than 2 weeks into the New Year. A couple of posts ago I wrote about New Year's Resolutions and how I don't like having a legalistic set of rules to stick to - however I do love the opportunity to reflect and see what I want to achieve over the year. 

So even though we're a couple weeks in, I thought I would share what some plans are for the year. I've broken them down into various categories:

Spiritual - to grow closer to God by...

• Reading through the whole Bible from my new Message* version of the Bible. (*The Message is a Bible written in contemporary language which tries to capture the meaning of what was written in the original Hebrew/Greek)
• Meeting with someone to pray every fortnight
• Being more generous 
• Taking time to talk to those people might class as social outcasts

Environmental - to be more aware of how my decisions affect the environment by...

• Only eating meat 2-3 times a week (if you think I'm crazy read this or watch this)
• Walking/cycling more
• Looking into how the clothes I buy, food I eat, products I use are manufactured and produced and see if there are ways to be more eco-friendly.

Social - to develop solid friendships with lots of different people by...

• Joining a sports team
• Regularly attending my Church midweek group
• Having a weekly "pub" night
• Visiting old friends (especially in Wales)

Fun - to ensure I don't get old and boring by....

• Leaving the country at some point
• Going clubbing more
• Doing something different with my hair
• Baking exciting things like "brookies"
• Taking more photos

Cool well that's pretty much it...
